What happens on your photo shoot day?
Ever wondered how the actual photo shoot day works? Today I'm gonna walk you through a general equine & dog photo shoot day with me.
EQUINE PHOTO SHOOT
Normally, an equine photo shoot will take place wherever your horse is stabled, sometimes you may decide you want a beach photo shoot, or maybe a local park or something similar. Whatever you choose, the process is largely the same.
Once I arrive, I'll spend a bit of time having a chat with you, taking a look around the location, and I'll usually show you some of the frame samples, depending on your chosen package before we get started too. There is also plenty of time to go over outfits together if you're unsure, as well. Once we've had a look around, the fun stuff starts.
If you're feeling a bit uncomfortable, I can always start with some photos of just your horse to ease you in, and often a walk away/walk back along a pathway is a good place to start. From looking around earlier, I'll have a few ideas in mind, then it's time to change into your next outfit and do some more photos. I usually leave riding photos to the end (if you'd like them), this way it doesn't matter if your horse gets a bit hot and sweaty.
If you'd like some "at liberty" style photos, this is a possibility, too, and normally I'll leave this until after the ridden photos.
A photo shoot normally lasts about 2 hours, but this can be longer or shorter depending on your horse, the weather etc.
The whole thing is really relaxed, I'll be chatting to you and guiding you the whole time.
Once the photo shoot is done, I'll give you all the info you need about what happens after your photo shoot.
DOG PHOTO SHOOT
Usually a dog photo shoot takes place at one of your favourite dog walking spots. When I arrive, I'll take a bit of time to get to know you and your dog, and then we simply go for walkies together. I might stop and do some "sat down" type images along the way, or if you'd like to be in the photos I simply set these up as we go along, too.
There is plenty of time to change collars or harnesses as we go, and if you're wanting to change your outfits, there is plenty of time for that, too.
Dog photo shoots normally last between 1-2 hours, depending on the dog, the walking route, the weather etc.
Once we get back to the car, I'll tell you everything you need to know about what happens after your photo shoot.
