Bronwyn, Wilma, Mr Charles & Sparkles

Working with these two on the gorgeous farm on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales really lit my heart up. The wild landscape was definitely reflected in this shoot and all its energy in the final images.

Bronwyn and her Daughter Wilma were gifted a shoot from their best friend and farm owner, Ellie.

I've worked with Ellie at Hull House Farm a few times, and I was really looking forward to doing this shoot. Bronwyn wanted it to reflect what they spend their lives doing, working with the sheep, riding, and just having fun.

We started the shoot at home in the paddock where the horses and sheep are kept. We did a couple of bits on the floor before the girls went for a tear around the field. It was great fun watching them canter and laugh from end to end.

After a while we brought sheepdog, Troy, into the shoot, and Bronwyn worked the sheep from horseback. Such a pleasure to watch these amazing actions, it's always so fascinating how it's done.

To finish the set at home, we went for a big challenge of the horses, the girls, the sheep and the dogs all in one image. Challenge accepted... Challenge complete!

As the sun began to set we boxed the horses up the road to a local tarn, and finished splashing and playing in the water which really was great fun. It's not often you get to shoot in such wild and beautiful locations when the sun sets perfectly for you. This is definitely a shoot to remember for sure!
