How do we book you and what’s your payment plan?
You can book by dropping me an email, giving me a phone call, or filling in the contact form on my website. A £50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your photo shoot date. Payment in full must be received BEFORE the photo shoot. If you'd like to set up a payment plan with me, that's okay, too!
Do you charge for travel?
Travel costs are included in the package price, unless an overnight stay is required.
How much do you charge?
It depends on the package you choose, you can view my equine photo packages HERE. Each package can be tailored to suit your needs, too, so if you'd like something a little different, let me know.
How many pictures do you take?
I can’t put an exact figure on how many photos I’ll take during your photo shoot, but your final gallery will have at least 40 images in it. I take out all the bloopers and duplicates before it goes into your gallery so you see the most beautiful ones.
How long does a photo shoot take?
I don’t like to put a time limit on my photo shoots, but usually 1—2 hours is enough time. Depending on your horse it could be shorter or longer. Either way I can guarantee you will have loads of fun and get beautiful images.
How many people can I bring with me & can they feature in some photos?
As many as you like! I’m more than happy to include extra people in the photos! The more the merrier! Extra dogs/horses may require additional charges so please let me know beforehand how many fury personalities I can expect to meet!
Can I have a mix of a dog and horse photo shoot?
Absolutely! I'm more than happy to do a dog and horse in one photo shoot package!
Where is a good location for a photo shoot?
The east midlands is overflowing with beautiful locations! Horses are usually done at their stable yard, or we can go to your favourite hacking location, or even the beach.
The most important thing is that you and your horse feel safe and comfortable in the location you choose. If you’re stuck for ideas I’ll happily provide inspiration.
What should I wear?
Neutral colours usually work best—however this is your time to shine! Go casual with some country boots and t-shirt, smart casual with a nice shirt, or super smart with a ball gown! Muddy wellies, riding boots and your jods are perfect, too!
Basically you can wear whatever you like—accessories are great! Just keep in mind the weather. The most important thing is that you’re comfortable and you feel like YOU! You will receive a style guide with your welcome pack once you've booked.
How do I prepare my horse for a photo shoot?
I recommend horses are bathed and your tack is cleaned as you would for a show—this gives a lovely polished look to the final gallery—it’s up to you if you want to plait.
When should I have a photo shoot?
There are so many occasions that can be marked perfectly with a photo shoot. From getting a new horse, saying goodbye to an old friend, birthdays, anniversaries, the list is endless.
Then there is the question of seasons (depending on what sort of look you’re going for)... Spring is great for bluebells and daffodils. Summer is great for the bright sunshine and late evenings. Autumn is great for orange and golden tones, surrounded by leaves. And winter is perfect if your horse has sweet itch and hates flies! Any time of year you chose, you will still get loads of beautiful photos!
If you’re finding it hard to decide, just drop me a quick email, or we can even discuss the timing of your fun photo shoot over the phone.
I have a tricky horse that won’t sit still, can I still have a photo shoot?
My camera equipment is specialist enough to catch those split second moments where everything is perfect. I've got 20+ years of experience working with horses, so I know a few things we can do to keep the photo shoot running smoothly. I will also spend time familiarising myself and my camera with your horse so they feel comfortable around me before we begin. It’s important that everyone is comfortable so that we have loads of FUN!
Do you bring an assistant, or do I need to bring one?
If you have someone to bring with you to assist as a treat shaker that would be great! If you’re struggling to find some one then let me know and I can bring someone along to help! It’s always a good idea to bring an extra pair of hands to help with outfit changes, holding things etc. It helps keep the photo shoot running smoothly!
Do you have insurance?
Yes! I’m fully insured.
It is up to you to make sure we have permission to use your desired location for the photo shoot—however if you want help getting permission (for example a country house etc.) I am more than happy to do so! Please make sure you read my Terms & Conditions.
What happens if it’s raining?
Due to the nature of outdoor photo shoots, unwanted rain, wind etc can cause a bit of trouble. If the weather is bad, I’m happy to reschedule your photo shoot at no extra cost to you. You will be notified of any worries about this at least 24 hours before.
What do I need to bring with me?
You’re welcome to bring treats if you think they won’t be too distracting. Of course, any outfit changes you want to do, too.
For your horse, tack, head collar, anything you feel you might need. You can never bring too many things with you!
When will I get my pictures?
Your photos will be put onto your private gallery within 2 weeks of the photo shoot taking place. Prints are usually delivered to you within 3 weeks from the order date, either in person, or via post. Digital files are delivered via email within 24 hours of receiving payment.
How do I chose my images?
Once your images are uploaded into your private gallery on my website, you will notice there is a code underneath each photo. All you need to do is reply to the email I send you with the code of the images you wish to order. There are instructions in the email so don’t stress! It’s easy! And of course you can always ask me for help!
You can also have an in person viewing, where I go through your final gallery with you, if you'd prefer.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY OTHER QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE. I’M ALWAYS HAPPY TO HELP.
I can’t wait to start talking to you about your fun photo shoot!
