There’s something truly special about sunrise sessions — the quiet calm, the golden light, and the world just beginning to wake up. My morning with Lilie and her gorgeous dog Reeva at Surprise View in the Peak District was nothing short of magical.


We met just as the first light began to spill across the hills, parking up at Surprise View for the perfect start to the day. Reeva was the best girl — so calm, so patient, and absolutely full of personality. She clearly loved being out in the fresh air with her mum, and she was more than happy to show off in front of the camera!

We began our session up on the rocky tops, surrounded by breathtaking views and heather glowing in the morning light. Lilie and Reeva made the most of the peaceful atmosphere — taking in the scenery, playing together, and enjoying those beautiful quiet moments that make these sessions so special.


After spending time up high, we crossed the road and headed down towards Padley Gorge. The woodland down there is like something out of a fairytale — dappled light, mossy stones, and winding paths that create the most enchanting backdrop. I love producing a variety of images during a session, and Reeva made that easy! From posing gracefully on rocks and logs to running, jumping, and showing off her playful side, she was a complete star.

“I was super excited but also a little worried I wouldn’t know what to do or how to pose, but Imogen made it feel very natural and easy. It was the perfect morning — super relaxing, and it all ran smoother than I ever could have imagined. It definitely helped that my dog Reeva is a massive poser!

Going to view the final photos was my favourite part — it was such an emotional moment, and I was amazed by all the special moments captured.

I feel so grateful to have had this experience, and I’m glad I now have these to treasure forever.”
