Ava had a portrait session with her two horses Blue & Molly to celebrate her 16th birthday. Set on a beautiful estate on the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire border in Widmerpool, the location was nothing short of spectacular.


As usual in England, you can never be guaranteed the weather, and the first 45 minutes was spent hiding from the biggest downpour you've ever seen. It did create some beautiful portraits in the stables though.


Our patience really paid off, as after the rain came the most beautiful evening sunshine.

We included Ava's sister, Niamh, and the family dogs, Oscar & Milo. We got the most wonderful combinations of the five of them, together and separately.


Honestly, it's got to be one of my favourite shoots from the summer. From sunflowers to twinkly light through the ancient trees, it was just a stunner.
