There are shoots that stay with you — not just for the beauty of the horses, the setting, or the light — but for the quiet, magical moments that make an image truly unforgettable. My session with Georgia and her gorgeous bay mare, Havi, was exactly that.

Shooting at this location was a real highlight for me. It’s always such a treat to have special permission to photograph somewhere unique, and this late summer offered a rare combination of dry weather and light that gave the landscape an almost autumnal feel. The golden tones, warm shadows, and rustic textures made the perfect backdrop for Havi and Georgia to shine.

While photographing Georgia and Havi together, a delicate white butterfly fluttered past — right as I captured one of the images. This wasn’t just a beautiful addition to the shot; it holds a deeply personal meaning for Georgia. The butterfly is a sign that reminds her of her beloved old horse, who is no longer with us.

Moments like this are why I love what I do. Photography doesn’t just capture a horse standing in a field — it can capture connection, memory, and magic. Signs like these bring an even deeper layer of meaning to images, creating memories that are as emotional as they are visual.

Of course, no session is complete without including the wider family. We captured Georgia’s parents and their dogs too, making the session a full celebration of the people and animals who are important to her. These portraits are not just images — they are heirlooms, moments in time that will be cherished for years to come.

This shoot was a reminder of the beauty of both nature and connection. From Havi’s gentle presence to the symbolic butterfly, every detail contributed to a session that was deeply personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.
