Holly & William

It's every little girl's dream to sit on a swing under an oak tree with their palomino pony and a pink dress on, right? Summer days don't get much better than this.

The main focus of this shoot was Holly with her gorgeous palomino gelding, William. But of course we included the whole family as well. I must say I was really impressed with this handsome little pony. He was so well behaved considering all the long grass and corn surrounding him.

It was clear to see how special his bond with Holly is.

We started the shoot on the driveway. I love starting with a walking shot. Keeping my csubjects moving to begin with helps ease everyone into it and keeps things fluid.

We basically had Holly's entire wardrobe at this shoot, sp used her gorgeous yellow dress and cowgirl boots for the drive and corn field, then switched to the pink for the swing under the oak tree (which her dad and brother kindly put up and down for us!).

There were some white wildflowers in the middle of the paddock as well which looked amazing to shoot through.

We then used the stables and some of the features of the main yard area to finish off, adding the dogs and the rest of the family to create a really stunning final set of images.

Working with children and ponies is my ultimate favourite. You usually get to experience every emotion during the shoot, but end up with the most authentic, genuine images of the bond between them and their pony.
