"So me and Milo were gifted a photoshoot as a present from my mum who has previously had shoots with Imogen and I always absolutely loved them so I was super exciting when we was given this as a present.
I was super super nervous for the photoshoot as my dog Milo was only 9 months old and I was so panicked that he wouldn’t sit or stay still for photos.
We had a phone call prior to the actual shoot to discuss best places for it as I knew what I sort of wanted and Imogen gave us the best places and she made me feel so comfortable leading up to the shoot, making sure we knew what to bring and how the day would go.
On the actual day I again was so nervous and soon as meeting Imogen she immediately made me feel calm and just let Milo be himself. The patience Imogen has is incredible and she knew exactly how to capture his and my best moment. We are so thankful to now have beautiful frames, the shoot was no stress at all and was so laid back and relaxed and Imogen was so amazing.
Milo was able to be his cheeky self playing in water and mud, we also had smart photos (before he got wet and dirty!). We really had such a blast and got the best photos, I'll definitely recommend Imogen to everyone who’s thinking of having a shoot.
When it came to the viewing I didn’t know what to expect but I definitely didn’t think I was going to have tears of joy like I did. We were so lucky to be able to work with such an amazing photographer and person. Imogen went through everything and helped me decide on products... even though we ended up getting them all we just couldn’t decide on a few for print as they were unreal. We sat and chatted with a cup of tea and snacks and laughed and had tears and felt so confident coming out of it.
So If you are debating on having a photoshoot, definitely go for it as you will honestly have so much fun!"
It was quite a foggy start to the morning for Payton & Milos shoot. Payton is a morning person like me, and when I get the chance to shoot at 7am in the morning I definitely feel a little warm and fuzzy inside.
We caught the tail end of the bluebells this shoot too, which made it extra special.
This location is one of my favourites, there is so much variety in a short distance which is great for dog photoshoots.
Milo LOVES water, so we had to be a little strategic with how we set out to do our photo session. We decided steering clear of water and mud to begin with was the best chance we had of smart portraits of him (and Payton's white jeans), then we were going to go back towards the water to finish off.
I loved Payton's outfit choices, they looked so perfect with Milo and the setting, the overall feel of the images is just perfect.
Milo was only 9 months old when we did the shoot, so everything we did was kept within in his puppy brain attention span. He was such a good boy though, and he enjoyed all the chicken he got along the way as well.
My favourite dog shoots are the ones with a mix of dog only and dog and owner images. I get the most joy out of trying all different ideas, and photographing all sides of a dogs personality (and Milo certainly has many!).
We took advantage of the bluebells and early morning light and created some magical images of both of them. We then moved to more open grassland for some action shots and made time to play with a stick (it's got to be fun for the dogs, too!).
To finish off we headed closer to the car park (and water), and got some gorgeous photos of both of them together on a tree lined pathway. As we paused to let another dog walker past, literally blinked and Milo had got into the most disgusting, boggy, muddy puddle he could find and came back completely ditched. Obviously me & Payton were in hysterics at this point - but this is Milo and all he loves, so we kept photographing him in all his muddy glory!
The shoot finished with a swim (his favourite) and a chance to get him at least a little cleaner for the car ride home. I honestly so loved photographing all his different sides, from good boy to muddy boy all the inbetweens!
We created the most beautiful 3 in 1 frame for Payton, and of course she had her gorgeous big frame of both of them, too.
Your dog doesn't have to be perfectly behaved to have a photoshoot. I'm here for the crazy, chaotic, zoomies loving dogs. The crazier the better for me (my camera is fast!). If you're inspired by these beautiful images that showcase the love between dog & owner, then please get in touch.
