There’s something so special about seeing families grow and change over the years — and the Robinsons are no exception. This was my second portrait session with them, and it’s incredible to see how much the kids have grown and how the whole family continues to evolve.

This time, we took everyone — and I really do mean everyone — to Cannock Chase for a wander through the woodland, stopping along the way to create some gorgeous family portraits. Joining us were horses Paddy and Ben, Poppy’s new pony Eddie, dogs Scrubs and Roo, and, by special request from Archie, their cat Jack.

Archie is more into tennis these days, and he insisted on bringing Jack along for the adventure. I must say, Jack loved it! We got plenty of smiles (and a few laughs) from passers-by as they spotted a very content cat happily exploring the woods on his harness and lead. Even Granny joined in the fun — and very kindly lent us an extra pair of hands when needed!

We used fallen logs, streams, gates, pathways, and even the stepping stones to create a wonderful variety of portraits. It was such a relaxed, joy-filled day — full of laughter, muddy boots, and those in-between moments that make family life so special.

Every session is unique, and I love the challenge of creating something fresh each time my clients come back. It’s a huge compliment to be trusted time and time again to capture these milestones — to create something that reflects their story as it unfolds.

“I was very excited for our second portrait session with Imogen — I knew it would make some amazing memories.

I love all of Imogen’s pictures and wanted my own snapshot in time of my amazing family.

I had heaps of worries — taking three horses (two of which are 17hh+), two dogs (one being a very excitable Labrador), two kids (we all know how temperamental they can be at six and eight), and if that wasn’t enough, a cat! We also took them off-site to Cannock Chase, so it was quite the operation.

And if that wasn’t enough, I then wanted to try and get a picture of all of the above together. Imogen was totally up for the challenge. Despite knowing how amazing she is from a previous shoot, I was apprehensive — maybe I was aiming for something that was basically impossible!

However, I shouldn’t have worried. Not only did we get one, we got several — in different locations! Alongside many other incredible pictures. Imogen is a magician. I still can’t believe how amazing the pictures are; they will be treasured forever. They’re priceless.

It was such a blast. Even Archie, who isn’t a big ‘picture fan’ and would rather be climbing trees and running about, enjoyed it. Poppy even started coming up with her own ideas for pictures, which Imogen totally embraced.

If anything didn’t go quite to plan (like when Charles threw a stick during one of the group shots, hoping it would make the dogs and everyone look — which simply resulted in the Labrador running off to fetch it, dragging Archie with him!), Imogen was completely chilled. There was no rush to regroup; nothing was hurried, and she was brilliant at finding new spots to shoot.

I just love watching Imogen work her magic with my kids.

The viewing was lovely and relaxing — complete with a brilliant cup of tea and crisps! On a different day I probably could have cried; I was just overwhelmed by the amazing pictures.

This was already our second shoot, and I can easily say it won’t be our last. Both shoots were so different — and all so special.”
