Daisy & Lily

I had a wonderful shoot with Daisy & Lily back in April after I sponsored the under 18s East Midlands eventing team back in summer 2022. 

Lily is a 15.1Hh chestnut mare, who Daisy events. She was a little sassy when I arrived as the weather had been really rubbish, so we let her have a run around in the school for a few minutes before starting the photoshoot. 

The first photos we did were around their stables at home. We used the gate to the school and the stable as well as part of their garden. Daisy's mum, Kate, had got permission to use a lovely tree lined drive about half a mile away from their house for the second part of the shoot. This driveway was stunning with daffodils - a photographers dream! 

We didn't have the sun beaming through like we'd hoped, but I do love an overcast day for a photoshoot. Especially at this time of year it creates beautiful soft light. 

We did the viewing session half way between us both at a beautiful bed & breakfast hotel in the village of Thorpe, Nottinghamshire. It was lovely to see Kate again a few weeks later and go through the images. Kate is going to use these photos as gifts to different family members which I think is a lovely idea. 

I still follow Daisy & Lily closely on instagram and love seeing what they get up to, especially now the eventing season is back in full swing.
