I officially found someone as crazy as me!

Claire & Woody were absolutely amazing saying yes to this on the weather we were given. Blizzard is the word, and so early in the morning when it was quite chilly as well. Absolute troopers they are!


This was another shoot in a creative series for me, I really wanted to make use of the fact I was so close to the beautiful Peak District, and get some horses up there and shoot in the winter when I have the time and space to get creative with some personal projects.

We started on quite an exposed area of moorland which luckily had a small cover of trees we could use for some shelter. We took Woody's rug with us and some equidrys to keep everyone warm, and I worked really quickly to avoid everyone getting too cold.

The good thing about the weather being like this was that it was super quiet up there which meant we had the whole place to ourselves eventually.


There was another car park a mile or so down the road, and with Woody being such a good traveller, we popped him back in the box, did a outfit change and then braved the cold once more.

Even though it was just a mile down the road, this small stretch of bridlepath offered something totally different. A pine tree pathway as a gorgeous wooden gate with the hillside behind, and towards the end the snow really started to come down (but in just the right amount to make the images beautiful!).


I've now scouted a handful of amazing locations up in the Peak District to use with clients if that's something they're up for, something a little more adventurous with their horses. A lot of my clients come back numerous times, so being able to offer something totally different to previous shoot locations is a big plus for me.
