A touching moment between a horse and companion with a small dog in a rustic stable setting.
A majestic black horse rears up dramatically in a sandy paddock against a green background.

Stepping into therapy is a significant and often daunting decision. For many, the uncertainty of what to expect—both from the therapist and the environment—can heighten feelings of anxiety. Recognising this, I had the privilege of conducting a brand photography session with Katie Deacon, a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Transformative Life Coach based in Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire.

Creating a Visual Welcome

Katie's mission is to support individuals in finding their inner freedom from what's holding them back. Operating from her serene home practice, she offers a safe and comforting space for clients to explore personal growth.

During our session, I aimed to capture the essence of Katie's approach: warmth, empathy, and professionalism. Photographs showcased her inviting therapy space, her interactions with clients, and moments of reflection—all designed to provide potential clients with a visual understanding of the experience awaiting them.

The Importance of Professional Photography in Therapy Practices

For therapists like Katie, professional photography serves multiple purposes:

  • Reducing Anxiety: By presenting clear images of the therapy environment and the therapist, clients can familiarise themselves with the setting, reducing apprehension about the unknown.
  • Building Trust: High-quality, authentic photographs convey professionalism and approachability, essential qualities for establishing trust before the first session.
  • Enhancing Online Presence: In today's digital age, a strong online presence is crucial. Professional images elevate websites and social media profiles, making them more engaging and reflective of the therapist's brand.
