I was beyond excited to photograph this beautiful family again – this time with their gorgeous new baby boy! As a family and equine photographer, there's something incredibly special about documenting growing families, especially when ponies (and the occasional blind sheep called Barabara!) are part of the story.


Jordanne wanted natural, relaxed family photos of the girls with their new baby brother, followed by some timeless outdoor portraits with the ponies. I first photographed this lovely family three years ago, and it's amazing how quickly time flies. Seeing how much the girls had grown and changed since our last session was truly heartwarming.

We began the shoot indoors in the playroom, using a simple but effective setup with a cosy sofa in front of the patio doors for beautiful natural light. It was the perfect starting point to keep everyone warm, clean, and happily in one place before we ventured outside. We captured a range of group portraits here — a little different from my usual outdoor sessions, but ideal for this part of the story.


The girls were absolute stars during this portion of the shoot, and soon it was time for a quick outfit change (and plenty of snacks!) before heading outdoors. We made our way to the family’s quarry at the back of the property, a place where the girls spend hours playing with their ponies, Land Rover, and tractor — a true slice of their everyday country life.


As is often the case with children, we experienced the full spectrum of emotions during the shoot — from a few little tears to lots of giggles and laughter. That’s what makes lifestyle family photography so rewarding: it’s all about capturing real moments, just as they are.

It was such a joy spending the morning with this gorgeous family. We made memories, told stories, and even had a few unexpected adventures (including me getting to drive the Land Rover back down the hill!). With ponies Winston and Kai getting older, these photos feel even more precious — a beautiful reminder of a family, their animals, and the love they share.
